    In 1991, as a continuation to the development of the Traveler`s Club and to Vasko`s urge to help the society and work in its service, he creates the University Rescue Squad – an organization which is prepared react against disasters and crises. A year later, under his supervision the URS becomes a full-fledged member of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross (BYRC). After a few years of development, Vasko contributes to the creation of a National Disaster and Crises Response Team within BRC.

    Out of the many years of experience he has, the earthquake in Turkey in 1999, a range of terrifying wildfires, the yearly organization of multiple first aid competitions for the rescue squads and numerous courses and trainings are the things that stand out.

    Vasko has a contagious personality who has kept the Squad alive in good and in bad moments for 25 years now. Anyone who has come under the influence of Vasko and his surrounding is quickly drawn to it and its ideas, life and ideals.

    Here is a short video, filmed by BTV, about his family:

.

I saw a man pursuing the horizon;
Round and round they sped.
I was disturbed at this;
I accosted the man.
“It is futile,” I said,
“You can never —”
“You lie,” he cried,
And ran on.
