Radio communication
We are so much used to our GPS systems today, that it is hard to imagine life without mobile communication. However, a great natural disaster or incident can easily bring about serious damage to the infrastructure, to the energy supply and cut off communication. Our experience of fighting wildfire shows that in a range of mountain regions, or hard-access regions even in normal conditions there is lack of coverage or the connection is unstable. All this calls for procuring back-up channels for exchanging information during rescuing operations. For that same reason, members of URS put a lot of effort into increasing their theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the radio communication sphere.
